Tsunami
Relief Donations

Schools,
Brothers, Partners and Friends of
the District of San Francisco
are actively involved in supporting
tsunami relief efforts being carried
out by the De La Salle Christian
Brothers in India and Sri Lanka.
To contribute to this assistance
for relief efforts, the Office of
Education continues to recommend
the following two ways:
- De
La Salle Christian Brothers in
India and/or Sri Lanka:
The Brothers in India and Sri
Lanka are assuming significant
responsibility for assisting in
the local of their respective
countries. See the details the
Brothers are organizing: the India
tsunami relief plan as
well as the
report as well as pictures
of the devastation and experience
of helping with relief and the
Sri
Lanka relief plan. For
those that have a special connection
to India and Sri Lanka and would
like their monies earmarked for
those specific countries, monies
can be sent to Relief Efforts
in India or Sri Lanka, c/o Julie
Hosford, De La Salle Institute,
PO Box 3720, Napa, CA 94558. Please
make checks payable to "De La
Salle Institute". Please
indicate if you would like funds
directed towards India or Sri
Lanka. Note: If a donation
of $250 or more is received by
DLSI, an acknowledgment letter
for tax purposes is given to the
donor. If the amount of the cash/check
donation is less than $250, a
tax letter is given upon request.

SECOLI Office in Rome:
SECOLI, established by the General
Chapter in 1966, is the missionary
corporation of the International
Institute. Members of SECOLI will
be meeting in Southeast Asia later
this month to determine how funds
will be distributed across the
region. In Sri Lanka, it has been
determined that SECOLI will be
specifically using funds for the
following:
Emergency food,
shelter, and clothing of teachers,
students, clients, their families
and relatives, and neighbors of
the Brothers.
Assistance to
repair houses and to recover essential
household items for those victims
connected to the Lasallian family.
Cleaning up
school buildings, water wells,
churches, etc., in affected areas.
Educating students
whose parents have died in the
tragedy.
Scholarships
for students whose family incomes
have been interrupted. To contribute
