The Brothers of the District of San Francisco completed the work of the 13th District Chapter on December 30, 2010. The group of 36 delegates and 4 alternates chose the three primary candidates for the office of Visitor: Br. Donald Johanson, Br. Thomas Jones, and Br. Christopher Brady. These Brothers will make themselves available for interaction with the Brothers of the District. The Brothers will vote for their primary candidate by January 20, 2011, and the ballots will be sent to Rome for counting. The Superior General will likely announce his appointment of the new Visitor (2011 – 2015) at the end of January.

The District Chapter meets every four years and is the principal legislative body of the District. In addition to presenting a ballot of candidates for the Office of Visitor, the elected delegates to the Chapter consider significant issues related to the Brothers’ mission and community life. This chapter brought forward, considered, and approved four propositions and seven lines of action in the following theme groups: Brothers in Community Life, Leadership, Brothers and Mission, Structures, Vocations/Formation/Spiritual Life, and the New Orleans-Santa Fe and San Francisco Districts. All the results of the Chapter are subject to approval by the Superior General and his council.
