Brother John Hoover Receives Teaching Award

Justin MascotBrother John Hoover was recently recognized by the Lynch School of Education at Boston College with its "Honoring a Teacher Award." The Student Senate of the Lynch School annually invites its seniors to nominate a teacher or mentor who has been singularly influential in the student’s development. A former student of Brother John's from San Miguel High School in Tucson, Arizona, submitted the nomination. (Brother John was on the San Miguel faculty from 2006 to 2008.) In his letter, Jesus (Damien) Baeza wrote about the academic and spiritual influence that Br. John had on Jesus' life.

The presentation was made during Brother John's November 9th and 10th visit to Boston College’s Chestnut Hill campus. Currently, Brother John is on the faculty of Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory in San Francisco as an instructor in English and as a counselor.
