Buried at Mont La Salle January 17

Brother Richard John Camara, FSC, who died on Saturday, January 11, 2009, will be buried at Mont La Salle in Napa on Saturday, January 17.

The funeral Mass is at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, at St. Apollinaris Church in Napa, preceded by a viewing beginning at 9:30 a.m. Luncheon in St. Apollinaris Church Hall will follow the Mass. Burial in the cemetery at Mont La Salle will take place at approximately 1:15pm.

St. Apollinaris Church is at 3700 Lassen Street, Napa, CA 94558 (Directions: Driving north on Highway 29, pass the Trancas Street/Redwood Road exit and turn off the freeway at the next exit, Sierra Avenue. Go one block and turn left on Lassen Street. The parking lot for the church will be on the right.)

Brother Richard Camara was born July 17, 1930, in San Francisco He attended Sacred Heart High School in San Francisco and entered the Novitiate in July 1953. He received the religious habit on January 25, 1954. He made his final vows in August 15, 1960, at Mont La Salle. Brother Richard is survived by his sister, Betty Gunsky, of San Jose, California.

Brother Richard served as teacher or administrator at Christian Brothers High School in Sacramento, Saint Mary’s College High School in Berkeley, Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory in San Francisco, Cathedral High School in Los Angeles, and Justin-Siena High School in Napa.
