Congratulations to the Class of 2010
Across the San Francisco District

Congratulations to the over 2,500 graduates of Lasallian schools of the District of San Francisco. These include 21 eighth graders (DeMarillac Academy), 1,750 high school seniors from the eleven District high schools, and 790 graduates of Saint Mary’s College in Moraga.

Numbers alone do not tell the entire story of the enduring influence of the De La Salle Christian Brothers, nor do they reveal the rigor of the education these schools provide. Saint Mary’s College High School held its 147th graduation exercises, Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory its 158th. Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory announced a 100 percent college acceptance rate, as did San Miguel High School in Tucson. At La Salle High School in Yakima, eleven seniors earned recognition as being in the top 10 percent academically of all Washington high school graduates. Both the salutatorian and valedictorian at Justin-Siena in Napa were named National Merit Finalists, putting them in the top 1% of U.S. graduates. Cathedral High School in Los Angeles matriculated 178 seniors, the largest group of graduates in the school’s history.

Embedded in the academic experiences of the graduating seniors is the deeper message of service and social justice that is a core part of the curriculum at every Lasallian school. Students who four years ago walked under welcoming banners "Enter to Learn" now hold diplomas and leave with a responsibility to serve.
