Saint Mary’s College of California
Moraga, California
Position: Provost
Saint Mary’s College of California invites nominations and applications for the position of Provost.
Founded in 1863, Saint Mary's is a residential campus nestled 20 miles east of San Francisco in the picturesque Moraga Valley. Based in the Catholic, Lasallian, and Liberal Arts traditions, Saint Mary's currently enrolls more than 4,500 students from diverse backgrounds in undergraduate and graduate programs. The De La Salle Christian Brothers, the largest lay teaching order of the Roman Catholic Church, guide the spiritual and academic character of the College.
As the Chief Academic Officer, the Provost provides strategic and operational leadership, vision, direction, and oversight for the design and implementation of the College’s academic programs, student, and enrollment services. The Provost directs the activities of the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, Vice Provost for Student Life, Vice Provost for Enrollment Services, Dean of Academic Resources, and the Graduate Deans.
In addition to an understanding of and commitment to the Catholic, Lasallian, and Liberal Arts mission of the College, the successful candidate will have an earned doctorate, a distinguished record of teaching excellence, evidence of scholarship and service to the profession that would meet the College’s criteria for appointment to the rank of full professor, and a minimum of ten years of increasingly responsible experience in higher education administration.
