Saint Mary’s College of California invites applications for a full-time Associate Director for Lasallian Mission in the Mission and Ministry Center to provide leadership in the development of programs, resources, and support to the campus community.

Founded in 1863, Saint Mary's is a residential campus nestled 20 miles east of San Francisco in the picturesque Moraga Valley. Based in the Catholic, Lasallian and Liberal Arts traditions, Saint Mary's currently enrolls more than 4,500 students from diverse backgrounds in undergraduate and graduate programs. The De La Salle Christian Brothers, the largest lay teaching order of the Roman Catholic Church, guide the spiritual and academic character of the College.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Dean for Mission and Ministry, the Associate Director for Lasallian Mission works collaboratively with students, faculty and staff to promote and communicate awareness, articulation and participation in the Lasallian mission at Saint Mary’s College.

  • Oversee the development and strengthening of Lasallian Mission programs on campus and collaborate on the development of all Lasallian Mission Program on campus for faculty, staff, and students, including the Office of Mission, CILSA, Student Life, and academic departments/programs. Provides Lasallian Mission support for departments and office in Student Life; develops and presents Lasallian Mission to student programs and organizations; strengthens partnerships between Saint Mary’s College and the Lasallian High Schools; works closely with the Dean of Ministry & Mission Center in strategic Lasallian Mission student program development; assists the Dean of Campus Ministry in strengthening the partnership between the Mission and Ministry Center and the Christian Brothers communities on campus.

  • Works in a highly collaborative and culturally diverse environment and develops effective relationships within the Departments, School and with other areas of the College. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the mission of the College, which is informed, animated and expressed through its Catholic, Lasallian and Liberal Arts traditions. The College’s articulation of the Catholic Identity and Lasallian Mission in the context of a liberal arts education are expressed in the five Lasallian Core Principles: Faith in the Presence of God, Concern for the Poor and Social Justice, Quality Education, Inclusive Community, and Respect for All Persons.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A masters degree in theology, religious studies, education, or other related field, doctorate preferred and five (5) years of experience in a Lasallian educational setting; understanding of, commitment to, and articulation of the Lasallian Heritage and Mission; knowledge of the life of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, demonstrated experience and success in Lasallian Mission program creation or development; previous or current participation in Lasallian Formation Programs (Buttimer, Lasallian Leadership Institute, Lasallian Social Justice Institute, or other Regional, District, Lasallian Volunteers, or local formation programs) highly desirable.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required; demonstrated excellence in using Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.), database, email and internet usage; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, establish priorities, work in an organized manner, work independently and as a team member, work cooperatively and effectively with all members of a multi-culturally diverse campus community and actively contribute to the mission of the College.
