Position: Vice President of Finance
Department: Finance & Administrative
Reports To: President
Objectives: Directs the organization's financial activities and accounting practices as well as the tuition scholarship program and the institutions relationship with lending institutions by performing the following duties personally or through finance department personnel.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Oversees and directs budgeting, audit, non-profit financial requirements, accounting, long range forecasting, and insurance activities for the organization.
2. Recommends modifications to existing programs to maximize financial capacity of resources.
3. Establishes and directs accounting policies, procedures and controls.
4. Directs procedures and computer application systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services.
5. Prepares reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of revenue, expenses, cash flow, debt management. Also tracks capital pledges, project costs, cash flow, as well as Foundation and endowed gifts.
6. Directs preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
7. Administers the Tuition Grant Program in cooperation with the principal and president.
8. Reports to the faculty/staff as needed on the financial situation of the school.
9. Responsible for the bi-weekly payroll for all employees.
10. Serves as an ex-officio member of the Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees.
11. Meets monthly deadlines for fiscal reports as established by De La Salle Institute.
12. Cooperates and communicates with the administrative personnel in the finance office of De La Salle Institute.
13. Responsible for the bi-weekly payroll for all employees.
14. Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.
15. Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
16. Arranges for audits/reviews of company's accounts.
17. Establishes and maintains relations with banks and other financial institutions.
18. Directs the acquisition and application of project financing and prepares related pro forma financial information relating to these opportunities.
Supervisory responsibilities
1. Line authority over accounting, accounts receivable and accounts payable personnel.
2. Delegated staff authority regarding accounting and reporting procedures in all functional areas.
