In our schools...

Every year, several schools in the San Francisco District present the Lasallian Educator Award to those dedicated teachers who exemplify the ideals of Saint John Baptist de La Salle. Awardees announced for 2008-2009 are Paul Havey from Christian Brothers High School in Sacramento; Patti Stauch from De La Salle High School in Concord; Cheryl Healy from La Salle Catholic College Preparatory in Milwaukie, Oregon; David Desmond from La Salle High School in Pasadena; Michael Henning from Saint Mary’s College High School in Berkeley; Marie Llamas from Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory in San Francisco; and Sally DiGiacomo from Justin-Siena High School in Napa. Also at Justin-Siena, the Holy Spirit Award honoree is Marsha Niemann, who is retiring this year after twenty-nine years of service as a Physical Education teacher and coach.

Campus Ministry classes at Saint Mary’s College High School in Berkeley, under the direction of Adrian Fulay, observed Founders Day on May 15 by releasing a video they had made titled “Who Is Saint John Baptist De La Salle?” You can view it yourself at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtycxqOdg7w

Ten seniors at La Salle High School in Yakima, Washington, were recognized as being among the top 10% of students in the State of Washington. (www.lasalleyakima.com).
