Brother Donald Johanson officially accepted the leadership of the District of San Francisco at the Transition ceremony held at Mont La Salle on Saturday, July 2nd. A mass officiated by Father David Deibel was followed by the appointment rite. Outgoing Auxiliary Visitor Brother Thomas Jones read the obedience from Superior General Álvaro Rodriguez Echeverria appointing Br. James Joost as the new Auxiliary Visitor. Immediately following, Br. Stanislaus Campbell read the Superior General’s obedience appointing Brother Donald as Visitor, making him the seventeenth provincial named since the District’s foundation in 1868.

In accepting the appointment, Br. Donald thanked the many people—family, friends, and Brothers—who supported him along his religious journey and recognized the outgoing administration and Lasallian Partners for the many commitments they have made to Lasallian education.
