New Coordinator
of Lasallian Student Programs

Paquette
Marilyn
Paquette has accepted the
position of Coordinator
of Lasallian Student Programs
for the District of San
Francisco effective July
1, 2006. She will work
within the Office of Education
at the De La Salle Institute
in Napa to promote the
heritage, mission, and
vocation of the De La Salle
Christian Brothers and
their Partners through
a variety of programs geared
to students and young adults.
Marilyn comes to this newly
created position from Sacred
Heart Cathedral Preparatory
in San Francisco, where
she has served for the
past five years as a teacher
of social studies, history,
and religion, and as a
campus ministry team member.
Prior to that she served
for two years as a Lasallian
Volunteer, living and working
with the San Miguel School
middle-school community
in Providence, Rhode Island.
Marilyn is a 1997 graduate
of Saint Mary’s College
of California, with a degree
in history, and has earned
her teacher certifications
and her Masters Degree
in Education from the Saint
Mary’s College School
of Education. She has also
completed the Lasallian
Leadership Institute. In
her new position Marilyn
will provide leadership
and assistance to a number
of District student programs,
including Lasallian Youth,
Lasallian Collegians, Venaver,
Young Lasallians, and Lasallian
Student Leaders. She will
work with the Office of
Education on providing
support and resources for
Campus Ministry, Service-
Learning, and Lasallian
Volunteers, and she will
collaborate with the District’s
new Director of Vocation
Ministry, Brother George
Van Grieken, FSC, in the
development of school vocation
programs and activities.
Marilyn says that her “path
as a Lasallian educator
has been a blessed one,” with “the
most transformative years” being
those she spent as a Lasallian
Volunteer. She says, “The
last eleven years have
guided me on a well-directed
path that continues to
open new doors while I
learn and grow.” |
