Lifelong Learning features Brother Ted Kanelopoulos, sharing reflections about his vocation and his upcoming move to a new school community. Expressing a Lay Vocation is one in a series of articles by Brother George Van Grieken for Partner Formation. The article describes the Brother's vocation as a uniquely "lay vocation", dedicated exclusively to education. John Scudder, Principal of Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, shares with his faculty and staff a thoughtful response to Brother Robb Wallace's March testimonial.

District and U.S./Toronto Region Statistics, New Web Site,
Brother Francis Huether, FSC (RIP)

District and U.S./Toronto Region Maps now include District/Regional statistics. Visit the new Christian Brothers Conference web site at http://www.cbconf.org. It contains an obituary for Brother Francis Huether, FSC, who died April 3, 2000.

New District Publication
Lasallian Education in the District of San Francisco This informational pamphlet, distributed to schools in March, is now available on the web site: recommended reading for prospective employees.
Partner Formation - This new addition provides an overview of District formation programs for Lasallian Partners. A valuable resource for educational communities.   
Area Papers Cover District Schools
Students and faculty members from Saint Mary's College High School, Berkeley, traveled to El Salvador in March as Pilgrims for Peace. Their story is told in two recent articles about this new Lasallian venture. Find news of Lasallians around the world and numerous resources on the Institute's Rome web site at

In Memoriam
An obituary for Brother Bede Van Duren, FSC, founding principal of Justin-Siena High School appeared in the March 13 Napa Valley Register. See In Memoriam for this article and memorials for recently deceased District Brothers.
