WE
LOOK TO THE BROTHERS AS THE HEART, THE MEMORY,
AND THE GUARANTORS OF THE LASALLIAN CHARISM,
TO PROVIDE US WITH THE INSPIRATION AND ANIMATION NECESSARY
FOR FULFILLING THE LASALLIAN MISSION.

General Chapter, Rome, 1993
Though
currently comprising a small percentage of the work force in many
Lasallian schools and apostolic works, the De La Salle Christian Brothers
are recognized as "the heart, the memory, and the guarantors of the
Lasallian charism", and they continue to provide one another and their
Lasallian Partners with the "inspiration and animation necessary for
fulfilling the Lasallian mission." (Context for Action, article 3.26)
