Lasallian school leaders from two Districts gathered in Napa recently for the first meeting of the expanded Secondary School Administrators Association (SSAA), which now includes Presidents and Principals from schools in both the District of San Francisco and the New Orleans-Santa Fe District.
The September 22 – 24 meeting at the Christian Brothers Retreat and Conference Center at Mont La Salle. brought together administrators from sixteen secondary schools and two middle schools
Members of the SSAA meet three times a year to share challenges and insights, promote mutual professional development and spiritual enrichment, and advance initiatives on behalf of the Lasallian mission.
The programs of the meetings include sharing sessions for the whole group and separate sessions for presidents and principals, professional presentations, reports from Visitors and from District-level departments, shared prayer, and socializing. The September 2008 meeting featured a presentation by Elizabeth Goettl, president of San Miguel High School in Tucson, Arizona, on Data-Driven Decision-Making.
The collegial spirit of both Districts was in evidence, and the expanded SSAA is another instance of the robust collaboration between the two neighboring Districts on behalf their common Lasallian educational mission.
